When Randy works late, we get to eat breakfast for dinner. Yep, it was pancakes, bacon and eggs for dinner at the Blankinship house tonight! And this should put to rest the question of whether or not I have a "creative bone in my body." The answer is....well, you decide. What are those pancakes the kids have? Gotta go...the bath is crying for grimy kids and I'm ready for my favorite time of day...the kids' BED TIME!

Hey, pretty fancy pancakes and I wish I had some of those crab claws. Yum!
Thought I would tell you about our little adventure. We had a robin nest in the pecan tree in our backyard. The first baby blew out in a windstorm at pinfeather stage and perished. The second came out on the next windstorm and was hopping around the yard. As cats are thick here I put it back in the tree several times but it would not stay. I am sure it became cat food. The third baby then came out in another storm and Debbie saw this one and insisted we try to save it. I bedded it down in a orange Lowe's bucket and we proceeded to hunt bugs and worms. That became tiresome and so I ventured off to the local bait shop for some worms. Well, that baby robin was well fed on a gourmet feast of premium giant Canadian nightcrawlers. They were so big they had to be cut in four or five pieces. Anyway, the bird was much stronger by the next morning so I fortified him with a big gourmet breakfast and put him back in the tree. The parent birds quickly began feeding him and he stayed put all day, preening and eating. Yesterday morning I could not locate him but the actions of the parents indicated he was somewhere close. He was now well feathered and I think he probably survived.
Love to all, Pa David
